Introducing Indigo

Catching Flies and Universal Production Music present 'Indigo', the artist led EP series.

Meet the artists and listen to the brand new mini-mix below.

Laurence Guy

Emerging, like many young UK artists, from grassroots genres such as D’n’B and Dubstep, Laurence Guy has always been keen to explore his own artistic vision.

Delving into different musical routes and testing new sonic directions has kept Laurence at the forefront of a scene and with such an active pursuit of music both old and new, Laurence has established himself as a selector, playing globally at some of the best venues and festivals around.

Ron Basejam

The anagrammed alter-ego of Crazy P co-founder, James Baron. Started as a ‘no pressure’ side project in 2006, Baron wanted to capture the more diverse and quirky sides of his musical tastes and create underground music with character.

His first 12” release – ‘For the People, By the People’ was immediately noticed for its infectious hook and anthemic vibe and is now considered by some to be a forerunner to today’s slo-mo house sound.

JDP

Award-winning songwriter, rapper, singer and poet Johnathan Pratt.

JDP was born on the southside of Chicago. He combines elements of rap, pop, R&B and electro to craft a sound all his own. His music has been featured in TV, film, in the internationally released video game Watch Dogs, and more. As a songwriter, JDP wrote the music for season 3 of Go90/Awesomeness series, Guidance and Emmy-winning Netflix series Ask the Storybots.

Catching Flies

Multi-instrumentalist, producer and DJ George King.

Catching Flies released his debut album ‘Silver Linings’ in July 2019. Containing shades of everything from hip-hop to house, soul to jazz, it was awarded album of the month by Future Music and praised by London in Stereo for its ‘exceptional production’. He was also recently nominated for a BAFTA (‘Best Music’ category) for his soundtrack work on a video game.

Elsa Hewitt

Gilles Peterson approved Elsa Hewitt is a prolific producer and songwriter, known for making avant-garde electronic music.

Mesmerising and deceptively experimental, her music merges currents of lo-fi house, future garage, dub-techno, experimental-techno and hip-hop—with hazy textural ambience, well-honed songwriting and spoken word. In 2016 the talented artist won the PRS Foundation's Lynsey de Paul Prize and was shortly after selected for Brownswood’s Future Bubblers Year 2 collective.

Little People

Anglo-Swiss producer Laurent Clerc.

In the 90s, Laurent Clerc gained a comprehensive education in some of the best underground New York hip-hop around at that time. An old Mac and a stack of old LPs were catalysts for Laurent to try and emulate these sounds from across the pond. Little People effortlessly combines warm synths, intricate melodies, and string arrangements resulting in a string of successful releases over the last 10 years.
