What’s changed?
With the new and improved Universal Production Music website, faster search and seamless music discovery are now at your fingertips.
- We’ve introduced a new best-match search feature so the most relevant tracks will always be at the top of your results page, saving you time in finding the perfect track for your project.
- You’ll also notice a new scrollable waveform across our tracks, so it’s easier than ever to find the right cue points and sample different parts of a song.
- With our new responsive interface, you can also search, preview and download tracks via your mobile device for seamless use on the go.
- Meanwhile, we’ve also introduced a new Favourites section and an improved Playlist, Pitches and Downloads section so you can easily access the tracks you’ve saved for your projects anytime.
- Our Playlists, Pitching, and Favourites features also benefit from improved performance and more intuitive workflows making it easier to organise and manage your projects.

Intuitive Online Search
You can now search for sounds and music by keyword, track title, composer, and lyrics then browse results by tracks, albums and playlists simultaneously. Click on the in-browser player to hear the tracks straight away. If you find one you like, just add it to your playlist or download it.
Finetune your search even further by choosing tracks based on their:
- Length: select tracks by their maximum length
- Beats per minute: ranging from 40 BPM to 200+ BPM
- Version type: includes vocal leads, instrumentals, backing vocals only, solos, underscores, and stem mixes
- Edit length: From hits and stings to full-length tracks Instrument: Keyboard, percussion, strings, orchestra, brass, and more
- Genres: From sound design and production elements to dance and reggae
- Mood: Dramatic, confident, emotional, romantic - the choice is yours Tempo: From slow to fast and varied time signatures
- Use case: From corporate and news to advertising to movie, film, and TV Era: Choose a decade from the 1500s to the 2020s Country: Music from the different continents of the world Label: A wide choice of Imprints including BBC Production Music and Atmosphere Music.

We’ve also added a “Related Albums and Playlists” feature across our Albums and Playlist pages so you can easily find similar content for your production.
Stems
Every project presents unique demands to artists and creators. If you need more control over the music in your production, try using the filter "Only tracks with stems" to refine your music searches and start taking greater creative control over the tracks in your projects.
What can you do with stems?
With music stems, you can adapt different components of a track to perfectly match the requirements of your project, including:
- Adjusting the levels of individual instruments
- Removing elements to better fit your dialogue or sound effects
- Isolating one stem element and turn it into a leitmotif to represent a specific character or time
- Changing the beat to match the energy or pacing of a scene

If you’ve heard something and thought it would be great for your product, check out our Similarity Search feature, powered by AI technology.
Similarity Search helps you find tracks that match the style and mood of your reference track. Simply type or paste a YouTube link to get started. Similarity Search listens to the track (or the part of the track you specify) to find the closest matches.
It's a quick way to find tracks in the Universal Production Music library that fit the feeling you're looking for.
Cue Sheet Helper
Creating cue sheets is time-consuming and takes you away from other important tasks. Use our Cue Sheet Helper to do the work for you. It automates the entire process so you follow copyright rules and rights holders get paid - every time.
