About Miguel D'Oliveira
Originally from Portugal, Miguel spent several years at Medical School at the University of Coimbra. After graduation, and the odd job as cartoonist and scuba diver instructor in Lisbon, Miguel decided to resurface in London.
In London, Miguel began studying audio production and orchestration. He was then invited to join the indie rock band Lapland, where he played keyboards and trumpet. The band toured the UK for two years and released a couple of albums. Later, a student from the London Film School approached him to score his graduation film, and that would be the pivotal moment in his film-scoring career.
Between 2004 and 2007, Miguel worked as an Audio Editor for Showreel magazine, where he wrote about film music, audio software and studio equipment.
Miguel is a member of the PRS, a full voting member of BAFTA, a member of BASCA, and a visiting tutor at the NFTS.
