Virginia Ernst used to be one of the best ice hockey players in Europe. For eight years she was a member of the Austrian national women’s ice hockey team and won the gold medal for Austria at the world championship. In 2011, after returning to her hometown of Vienna, she literally shelved her ice hockey shoes and dedicated herself to her great passion...music.

Her big breakthrough was in 2014 with her song ROCKIN, which made it into the top 2 on the Austrian charts. Soon after, Virginia’s single SOLDIER made it to No. 1 and won her a nomination for the ‘Female Artist of the Year’ as part of the renowned Amadeus Austrian Music Awards.

In 2017 she released her debut album ONE!

At the invitation of internationally famous producer Alan Parsons, Ernst spent a few weeks at a Los Angeles recording studio in the autumn of 2018. Along with Parsons, she recorded her single LOOKING IN THESE EYES NOW, which was released in February 2019 and even charted in the UK and Germany.

2020 she won the ‘Women Of The Year Award’ in Austria !

Social Goal: Gender Equality

On 8 March 2018, International Women’s Day, Virginia Ernst started her concert series ‘Strong Voices – Strong Women’ and drew people’s attention to the still perceptible and noticeable unequal treatment of women. She roused support for her cause, got more than a dozen music colleagues to step on the stage, and created a lot of media attention. “Gender equality in the European Union is lagging behind. For instance, finance and sports are still regarded as male domains, which is very noticeable because of a significant income inequality. Women earn about ¼ less than their male counterparts – in the 21^st century! It’s high time we achieved equal treatment, independent of gender, ethnicity, or sexuality,” says Virginia Ernst.
